A filing by Musk’s lawyers said Twitter failed or refused to respond to multiple requests for information about fake or spam accounts on the platform, which is fundamental to the company’s business performance, Reuters reports.
“Twitter is in material breach of multiple terms of the contract, which appear to be false and misleading statements that Mr. Musk relied upon when he entered into the Merger Agreement,” the attorneys said.
This is another twist in the saga of whether or not Musk will buy Twitter.
Recall that in April it was announced that Musk was buying Twitter for $44 billion, but the purchase was soon postponed – until this company proved that fake and spam accounts on this network make up less than five percent of the total number of users.
