Damaged housing facilities were reported by eight local governments operating in the system of the Government of Serbia, while three local governments reported damaged infrastructure.
“Out of 11 municipalities, eight submitted minutes for endangered residential buildings, and today we will agree with the presidents of local self-governments on the completion, that is, the issuance of a decision. We have completed the verification process, visited and checked all minutes. We expect that in about a month citizens will be paid state aid amounting to 120,000 dinars, “said Sandra Nedeljković, Deputy Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija in charge of public investment management.
At the meeting in Gracanica, she explained that this is a program to help citizens whose homes have been damaged, while auxiliary, economic and business facilities are not covered by this program, reports Kosovo online.
“Another program was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and it refers to the general infrastructure under the jurisdiction of local self-government units. What the Office for Kosovo and Metohija supports and renews after every natural disaster are mostly local bridges, roads and pedestrians, waterways, rain sewers, preventive infrastructure for flood defense, and those are the works that the office will support in the future, after the technical documentation is prepared “, stated Nedeljković.
Representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the presidents of the Provisional Authorities in Kosovo, at a meeting in Gracanica, discussed priority issues and the continued support of the Government of Serbia to the Serb population.
